INEA
The company INEA was founded in February 1987 by the Jožef Stefan Institute as one of the institute's projects to promote transfer and application of research achievements of the Institute in the fields of industrial internal energy management and control of industrial processes. INEA is a member of the Technology Park Ljubljana, the core of which represents the spin-off companies of the Jožef Stefan Institute and start-ups from the University of Ljubljana; INEA is also the leading company of the Technology Network Process Control Technology, established in 2004.
INEA is now an SME with 58 employees and the focus of activities lies on control and management of industrial processes. In this domain, INEA is one of the major independent companies in Slovenia. INEA develops designs, manufactures, installs, commissions and provides continued support for industrial management and control systems. Major interest lies on the areas of Internal Energy Systems, Building Automation Systems and Environmental Processes, Process Control of Continuous and Batch Processes, Factory Automation and Production Management (Manufacturing Informatics) Systems.
The contractual role of INEA is to be a technology provider for the electrical grid processes and role players, a lead integrator of basic R&D results, and an application trial case developer and integrator. INEA is registered with the Slovene authorities as an engineering firm. It is also registered with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology for research and development activities. As such INEA will further develop, use and market the developed technology and application software.
INEA's contributions
INEA leads the role refinement and process analysis tasks, the design of trial cases and the integration of results into a prototype for testing. Furthermore, INEA assists in specifications. Together with CRES and ENBW, INEA handles the trial site integration and subsequent analysis of trial data. Another major part of activities includes the optimisation of business processes of LDEs, the integration of technology for the demonstrator, the evaluation of achievements and the preparation of the technical documentation.
Key personnel
INEA's MIRABEL team is led by Zoran Marinšek (Dr.Dipl.Ing.), who received his doctor's degree from the University of Ljubljana in 1987 after studies of thermodynamics and energy engineering at the Faculty for Mechanical Engineering. After several years of experience as a researcher and a scientific assistant, he joined INEA, and since 1987, he has served as a Manager and subsequently as the General Manager there. His research experience covers the stochastic analysis of signals, boiling, safety analyses of NPP, safety instrumentation of NPP, and efficient energy consumption through computer process control. He has managed various research and development projects, R&D groups, and high-technology companies.
Zoran Marinšek is author and co-author of articles, papers, studies, conceptual projects, reports, and technical documentations in the fields of boiling phenomena, safety analyses of nuclear power plants (NPP), safety instrumentation of NPP, and the effective use of energy through process control.
